What We Do
Complete Auto Body
Restoration & Repair
Whether it's a show-stopping classic or your everyday commuter, we deliver craftsmanship you can see — and feel — the difference.
Classic Car Restoration
Full-frame-off restoration for vehicles from the 1920s onward. We source period-correct parts, repaint to original specs, and bring your investment back to showroom condition.
Collision & Accident Repair
From minor dents to major structural damage, our technicians use state-of-the-art frame straightening and unibody repair to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.
Paint & Body Work
Color-matched factory finishes, custom paint jobs, and flawless panel work. Our paint booth produces results that are indistinguishable from the original — or better.
Mechanical & Engine Repair
Body work is our signature, but we also handle brakes, suspension, engine diagnostics, and general mechanical repairs to keep your car running as good as it looks.
Insurance Claim Assistance
We work directly with your insurance provider to streamline the claims process. From documentation to estimates, we handle the paperwork so you don't have to.
Custom Fabrication
Need a custom exhaust, unique body modifications, or a one-of-a-kind build? Our fabrication team turns your vision into reality with precision and care.
Our Story
Built on Hard Work,
Kept Alive by Passion
Horseless Carriage Auto Body Restoration & Repair was founded on a simple belief: every car tells a story, and we're here to make sure that story doesn't end in a junkyard.
Located in the heart of Petersburg, Virginia, our shop has been serving the community for over three decades. We started as a small garage with big dreams and have grown into one of the region's most trusted names in auto body work — but our philosophy hasn't changed.
We treat your vehicle the way we'd want our own treated: with honesty, attention to detail, and genuine respect for the engineering behind it. Whether you're restoring a 1957 Chevrolet or fixing hail damage on a 2023 pickup, you'll get the same level of care and commitment.
Our Work
Results That
Speak for Themselves
Every vehicle that leaves our bay is a testament to the craftsmanship we put into every job — big or small.
What Our Customers Say
Trusted by Petersburg Drivers
They restored my dad's old Chevy and it looks better than when he bought it new in 1968. The attention to detail was incredible — even the engine bay is immaculate. These guys really care about what they do.
After a bad fender-bender, I was stressed about the insurance process. Horseless Carriage handled everything — the estimate, the paperwork, the repair. My car came back looking perfect. Couldn't be happier.
I've been bringing my vehicles here for years. Fair prices, honest assessments, and they always finish on time. When you need auto body work in this area, there's really no other choice.
